Focus group meetings were held in Gaza and the West Bank in March 2026 to examine local mental health needs and inform the design of the Palestinian Sentinel Surveillance Platform and Network. These sessions brought together healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, and psychologists, to identify key mental health impacts and concerns, possible
sentinel indicators, and operational obstacles and challenges. The focus groups provided essential contextual insights into resource and data availability, conflict's psychosocial and economic impacts, infrastructure constraints, and stakeholder expectations. Data from these discussions is being examined to map the demands and fine-tune the surveillance framework to meet local needs and realities.
